Henry G. Reed and Charles E. Barton first worked together as craftsman at a small silversmith manufacturing company. They honed their craft while moving up the ranks in the company. In 1824, the men became presidents and re-named the company to Reed & Barton; founding the brand we know today. They carried their deep respect for quality and craftsmanship throughout their career. These values still remain the cornerstones of the Reed & Barton brand.
